Throughout my first semester I learned that time management is very important. I have to stay on track with my homework assignments and to always check online for any changes on due dates or added on assignments. I also learned that teachers usually don't mention homework or anything cause it's usually an online assignment. In order to stay organized with due dates, homework and dates for exam I started writing it on Google Calendar. Organization is key in life and in college. It helped me Specifically in English 1A I have improved my skills on how to frame a quote in an essay. You must add background of the source you are quoting and then an analysis of what makes the quote relevant and important to your essay. Quote framing is what I will be taking with me and being added on to my future essays. On campus, I have learned to get to my class at least 15 minutes before class because finding parking is really hard especially if you have an afternoon class. Next semester I will be taking English 7 and I am hoping to gain a better understanding of writing an opinionated essay and reading non-fiction books. My future plans is two transfer to San Jose State because they have a good engineering program that I would like to be part of someday. I will be majoring in civil engineering because I am interested in the process of designing, managing, and the construction of buildings. I will mostly be going into constructions management as my goal job because I would like to go to different places to check out sites and design and see the process and progress of a project. A career that includes sitting behind a desk everyday is not the ideal plan for me. I would like adventure and see things being built instead of reading or hearing about them. I would like to gain enough experience and invest to build my parents a home and myself one. I would to find a more efficient way for building to resist natural disasters in less privileged areas.
